large number of Egyptians and foreigners imagine that Egypt has only 3 pyramids, namely the Giza pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, but the truth is that Egypt has more than 100 pyramids.

The pyramids extend from Giza, specifically in the Abu Rawash area, to Fayoum, where the Hawara Pyramid is located. This series was built by the ancient Egyptians (2630 BC – 1530 BC), and its construction varied between the stepped shape, such as the pyramid of Djoser located in the Saqqara region, through the inclined pyramid and even the pyramid. Complete as in the pyramids of Giza.

Egypt includes a number of pyramids that vary in size, area, and design (between level and terraced), the most notable of which are the following:

Pyramid of Djoser:

It is called more than one name, as it is known as the Pyramid of Djoser, Saqqara, or the Coliseum. It is located in the Saqqara area, northwest of the ancient city of Memphis in Egypt.

Unas Pyramid

It is located in the Saqqara Pyramids area. It is the pyramid built by Ounas, the last king of the Fifth Dynasty. The texts covering the walls of the burial chambers inside the pyramid were the first discovery of pyramid texts. In the burial chamber itself, the remains of a mummy were found.

The Bent Pyramid

  Red pyramid

It is the tallest of the three main pyramids in Dahshur, and its name is “red” due to the red layer of rust on top of its stones. It is the third largest Egyptian pyramid after the pyramids of Khufu and Khafre, which were built later in the city of Giza. At the time of its construction, the Red Pyramid was the tallest stone building in the world. Locals call it the Bat Pyramid.

Hawara pyramid

It is one of the pyramids of Egypt. It was built by the Egyptian Pharaoh Amenemhat III of the 12th Dynasty in the village of Hawara, 9 km southeast of the city of Fayoum. It is made of mud bricks covered with limestone. The pyramid contains many corridors and rooms, ending with a burial chamber, in which a huge stone coffin of One piece weighs up to 110 tons.

Meidum pyramid

The pyramid of Meidum was built during the Old Kingdom during the reign of King Sneferu of the Fourth Dynasty in Meedum (2620 BC), and three terraces currently appear from it. It was the fifth largest pyramid in Egypt when it was built. It seems that this pyramid was not intended to be a tomb for Sneferu, but rather to It is a tomb or a false pyramid. The pyramid of Meidum is distinguished by the shape of the heart of the pyramid, which appears as a high platform surrounded by sand and rubble.

All of these pyramids are located in Egypt, next to the three famous pyramids (Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure).

These pyramids that we talked about are not all of the pyramids in Egypt, but there are many of them throughout Egypt that bear witness to the greatness of our ancient ancestors.
